The Secretary-General has been meeting the Bangladeshi prime minister, Sheikh Hasina Wazed, at the United Nations in New York to discuss a variety of challenges facing ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.
The two leaders spoke about the need to end extremism, increase the empowerment of women and young girls as well as climate change.They promised to work together to develop a toolkit of best practice in a number of areas, including trade, good governance, rule of law and to ensure religious and political freedoms across ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.
Secretary-General Patricia Scotland said, "It's important everyone in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ looks to each other to create a free and democratic family of nations. It was a pleasure to hear Sheikh Hasina's ideas and her promise to help us all."
